Find the duplicate copy of the corrupted character file with the ".plr.bak" file extension and take out the ".bak" part. If it doesn't work, or if you don't get the option to restore the file to any previous versions, then delete the corrupted character file. In the pop-up menu that appears, click on "Restore previous version." That should work. Right-click on the file with the name of the character that was in red and that has the ".plr" file extension. Familiar outfit pieces bought by a player in a specific style will not preserve said style when equipped on another player who uses a different style a Familiar Shirt bought by a player with style 2 will not appear as a style 2 shirt if equipped on a player with style 1.Your character file has been corrupted. However, NPCs will have varying dialogue between female and male characters, for example, the Stylist. NPCs will also not give different dialogue to players depending on their character style. For example, a female character with style 1 will not have any less defense than another statistically identical female character with style 4, despite having exposed legs, nor will females with style 1 equipped be hindered by being in a Snow biome. Styles are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay in any form outside of visually. The style can be changed by clicking on the character image.
